Defensible Space: Full Zone 0–2 Clearance
California law (PRC 4291) requires 100 feet of defensible space around homes in the State Responsibility Area. We clear all three CAL FIRE zones — including the Zone 0 ember-resistant band — to county standards and document every zone so you can prove compliance. In San Diego County, Zones 1 and 2 are 50 feet each.
What’s included
- Zone 0 — Ember-Resistant Zone (0–5 ft): vegetation, mulch, and combustible debris removed from against the home
- Zone 1 — Lean, Clean & Green Zone (to 50 ft in San Diego County): brush thinned, dead material cleared, plants spaced
- Zone 2 — Reduce Fuel Zone (to 100 ft): grass mowed, ladder fuels reduced, defensible spacing maintained
- Work mapped to CAL FIRE and San Diego County requirements (PRC 4291)
